Keeping with the tradition of celebrating World Environment Day for the last 20 years, the students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Thalassery celebrated World Environment Day in the school premises on 13th of June. Dr. Surij Salih, the professor of Surgical Oncology, MCC was the chief guest for the day. The event organised on the day started with a prayer by school choir. Students delivered speeches in various languages. The highlight was a promise by students to keep the school campus clean. The guest for the day Dr.Surij inaugurated the celebration by delivering an environment conservation message. The Nature Club conducted an essay writing competition for students from class 3 to +2. Besides, a painting competition also was held for students. The saplings were distributed to the students with the message to treat plants with kindness.
